Opportunity Council- SeaMar GRACE Community Capacity Builder

Opportunity Council- SeaMar GRACE Community Capacity Builder

A Ground-Level Response And Coordinated Engagement (GRACE) Community Capacity Builder VISTA will be part of building and implementing systems to support the GRACE program.

The GRACE program is a community collaboration supported by Whatcom County, City of Bellingham, Peace Health, Fire and EMS, Law Enforcement, Whatcom County Jail and more! This program is directly supporting individuals that our emergency system sees the most and uses supportive and creative ways to improve their overall health and wellbeing while also reducing their high utilization of emergency services. The aim is to offer intensive, coordinated services to these “familiar faces” whose needs span beyond any single agency. The VISTA member will alleviate poverty by ensuring that vulnerable low-income community members are able to access necessary care to achieve and maintain health and economic opportunities and resources. The GRACE program aims to connect our community resources to those who need it the most, and the VISTA Community Capacity Builder will assist in our efforts to build that infrastructure. The Opportunity Council VISTA Cohort in Bellingham includes monthly team meetings, Professional Development opportunities, fun team-building events, and 4 annual Days of Service.
