Duties include dish washing, handling money, preparing sandwiches, stocking, prep work, mopping, etc. We are looking for someone who has a good work ethic, positive attitude and can multi-task well. We want to work with someone who is passionate about food and cooking.

Part time job. Morning availability preferred but will consider all applications.

Qualifications
Knowledge and experience with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Cuisine is preferred but no required.

Food handler’s permit is required.

The Firs Retreat Center Dining Room (DR) Supervisor is responsible for creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere where guests will be well-served. The DR Supervisor will train, lead by example and work alongside servers, to set, serve and clear tables for Retreat Center meals and special events. The DR Supervisor is responsible for recruiting and training high school- and college-age Dining Room servers and dish room crew, as well as organizing all aspects of the Dining Room operations in relation to guest service needs. The DR Supervisor schedules dining and dish room staff and can work up to full-time throughout the summer and most weekends the rest of the year.

Responsible for food service preparation, food delivery to class sites or on-site classrooms, and record keeping for procurement as assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor or under the direction of the Senior Cook. Food is prepared each classroom day at a commercially equipped central or satellite kitchen, and delivered to multiple sites in Whatcom County or food service provided directly to children at the satellite kitchen location. Cook located at satellite office will work closely with Kitchen Supervisor/Senior Cook on a daily basis. Actively participates as a member of the Food Service Team. Maintains working knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, agency policies and procedures and other applicable food handling/service regulations.
