We have a part time Attendant position available. We need a person who can work evening shifts (which means you must have your own transportation) on weekends, and weekdays. There will be the odd shifts (midday, evening, closing) to round out the week. Most weeks will have around 25 – 30 hours.

Brio desires to be known for attention to detail and exceptional customer service. To achieve this we need Attendants who are high energy, helpful, happy and incredibly hard working. Attention to detail is a must. The position involves providing a high level of customer service, processing drop off laundry, and making sure the shop is clean. Candidates must show evidence of working unsupervised.

Attendants must have a working smart phone; all Brio communication, scheduling and time sheet management is done through an app.
1) We meet once a month for a mandatory Staff Meeting, 7:15 – 8:15 am., usually the second or third Tuesday of the month.
2) Employees must have a smart phone for our in house communication.
3) There is a six-week and annual review.
4) Cleaning / Sales / Drop Off Processing

-Must have a high school diploma
-Be able to kneel down on knees while working with your arms
-We all share the cleaning and janitorial duties
-Must be able to lift 40 pounds (from trolley into large upper dryer)
-Uniform shirt provided (black pants, no sandals, uniform top)

This position fulfills Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Program objectives by providing education, watercraft inspection and decontamination services to recreational boaters within the Lake Whatcom and Lake Samish watersheds. The position will interact with members of the public, collect and track survey information, provide boat inspection and decontamination services and communicate with other state and local government staff.

This position is responsible for the preparation and launch of the AIS season as well as assisting in the gathering of data and report preparation at the end of the season.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

•One year experience working with the public on a daily basis in public outreach, customer service or similar.
•Course work in environmental science or knowledge of Lake Whatcom aquatic ecology preferred.
•Experience working with watercraft or basic knowledge of boat mechanics preferred.
•High level of comfort using smart phones to collect and process data preferred.
•Demonstrated experience in a team leader role preferred.
•At least one full season of AIS Prevention Program experience preferred.

•Valid Washington State driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Must provide a three-year driver’s abstract prior to hire.

Job Summary
Whatcom County Parks & Recreation Department is recruiting for the Maintenance Worker II position.  This position is responsible for working independently with minimal supervision to maintain the Bellingham Senior Activity Center and other Parks facilities.
Performs grounds, custodial and facilities maintenance manual tasks related to the upkeep, preventive maintenance and repair of County grounds, structures and facilities, balancing team and individual responsibilities with minimal supervision.  Operates and maintains related tools, equipment and machinery, within scope of licensure and established guidelines.  Performs manual work to preserve and/or improve the appearance, usefulness and safety of County property and resources. Complies with safety and legal standards and requirements.
Supervisor: Maintenance / Construction Supervisor or Regional Parks Supervisor
Hours of work: Generally 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.  Works outside of normal hours or on a weekend at times,  in order to maintain availability to open and close assigned facility at varying times, and to accomplish tasks that require the facility to be unoccupied (floor cleaning, for example).

Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or GED + 2 years of recent experience in grounds maintenance, facilities maintenance and repair, and custodial work.
Candidate must be able to work in a positive and collaborative manner with older adults and contracted service provider.
Must be able to work effectively with limited supervision.
Safety focus is very important for all Parks & Recreation department employees.
Special Requirements:
Background check must meet County criteria.

Must have a driving record that meets County standards and possess a valid Washington State driver’s license at time of hire and throughout employment.

Must pass a physical capacities examination.
