Job Description: Athletic Communication interns will have the opportunity to be fully engulfed in collegiate athletics while learning how to help promote the athletic programs to the best of their ability. Interns will be involved in helping to create a strategic social media plan for Orca Athletics, creation of dynamic video content, taking photos, broadcasting and live video streams, creation of graphics for promotional use, writing press releases, running an athletic website, performing post-game interviews with coaches and student-athletes, and much more.
Qualifications: Must be dependable, timely, and detail oriented. Should have a passion for communications and the always-changing athletics environment that we are a part of. Must be willing to learn.
Preferred Qualifications: Background with use of social media, video/camera equipment, savvy with computers, the ability to work with the Adobe Suite and background in graphic design, good writing skills.
Special Conditions: Applications will be accepted until the internship positions are filled. A current resume and cover letter are required. The position has the ability to be an internship for class credit, or also an internship for class credit paired with a work-study opportunity. The position will include office hours and also night time hours at athletic events and on weekends, so candidates would need to have flexibility with the athletics schedule.
