Position Day Camp Coordinator

Job Description General Responsibilities
1. Support Day Camp staff
2. Work with Program Director in development of Day Camp program
3. Understand, interpret, follow, and enforce the camp’s standards and policies
4. Be a positive Christian influence at all times and be Christ’s witness in all your ways and works
5. Assist other staff in providing for ALL campers’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs
6. Strive to build self-esteem, self-efficacy, and self-value in each camper and staff member
7. Be responsible for the stewardship of all camp/ church facilities and equipment
8. Represent the camp and its purpose in a positive manner when you are in public
9. Possess an attitude and actions which continually reflect that Christ lives within you and that you view your position as an opportunity to be in His service
10. Promote an atmosphere of Christian cooperation among the campers and among fellow staff members

Specific Responsibilities

1. Day Camp
a. Be the liaison to Day Camp Staff at each site and oversee the effective program execution of Day Camp
b. Prepare materials for Day Camp Teams
c. Work with Program Director to develop curriculum, arts and crafts, schedules, and materials
d. Refer discipline problems (camper and staff) to Program Director when necessary
e. Keep track of money from canteen and gas
f. Travel to Day Camps

2. Arts and Crafts
a. Lead arts and crafts
b. Assist in developing age appropriate crafts for each week
c. Keep track of inventory for Day Camp supplies and inform the Program Director when more are needed

3. Other
a. Assist in other program or support duties as assigned
b. Attend daily and weekly staff meetings
c. Take time each day to fill your spiritual needs
d. Make sure YOU and the other staff members are practicing good hygiene, sleeping habits, and eating habits while at camp
e. Be on call to serve as a counselor with all the responsibilities of that position, if need be

Qualifications Required Qualifications
1. Preferred age – 21 years old
2. Dedicated Christian who is willing to share their faith in Christ with others
3. Desire and ability to work with children and other staff outdoors
4. Have a good background in outdoor ministry
5. Possess strong leadership qualities

Desired Qualifications
1. Possess the ability to lead others in group activities
2. Organization skills
3. Self-motivation to get things done and start things on his/her own
4. Willingness to experience outdoor living and to teach/learn new skills
5. Ability to accept supervision and guidance
6. Possess imagination, a sense of humor, patience, conviction, sincerity, enthusiasm, initiative, self-control, adaptability, willingness to learn, integrity, ingenuity, a sense of spiritual direction, and the presence of God in his/her life

Compensation

$220/week
Days/Hours Varies, June 10-Aug. 11
